Job Description:

The Chamber is seeking a highly motivated and organized Vice President of Business Development and Investor Sales who will be responsible for membership development. This is a hybrid position meaning that some work must be done in the office and some can be done remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include prospecting, marketing, sales, account management, and relationship building.

Responsibilities also include preparing effective presentations (Word and PowerPoint formats); maintaining detailed and organized documentation and reports; and, facilitating communication with new investors before, during and post joining to ensure a high level of satisfaction. In addition, the Vice President of Business Development and Investor Sales will be responsible for developing sales leads, doing regular account maintenance in a CRM software, and providing superb service to the Chamber’s larger corporate investors.

Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, this employee will work closely with all members of the leadership team. This role requires someone who enjoys communicating with people, is comfortable recruiting businesses to join the organization, and believes in a strong business community engaged in policy advocacy efforts.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated professional who is articulate and has a proven track record in market development and sales. In addition, the ideal candidate is a self-starter who is detail-oriented and has experience providing excellent customer service and maintaining relationships before and after a sale is made. Furthermore, the applicant should have experience pitching middle management up to CEO’s and other executives. A successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the important role business leaders play in shaping public policy for the betterment of the entire community and be able to speak about the goals and mission of the Chamber comfortably. The candidate must possess the ability to operate both autonomously and as an engaged member of a collaborative team.

Experience:

At least five years of experience in marketing, business development, sales or policy advocacy. Excellent written and oral communication and negotiation skills and a proven record of successfully persuading others to take part in a particular effort. Ideally, the candidate will have worked for several years in a role that involves generating prospect leads and pitching businesses or individuals, such as hotel or destination sales or non-profit fundraising. Competency in the use of a membership management system is a must and the proficiency in Microsoft Office software is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
